It joins the north-western end of Red Square with Manege Square and gives its name to Voskresenskaya Square (known as Resurrection Square) situated nearby. Just in front of the chapel there is a bronze plaque marking kilometre zero of the Russian highway system.

Alexander Garden was one of Moscow's first public parks. It spans along the western Kremlin wall in front of the Moscow Manege.The State Historical Museum of Russia is a museum of the Russian history placed between Red Square and Manege Square.
